hen party Hannah Lloyd 2014

undefinedChester Cathedral hosted its first hen party celebration when ten women (all workers at Church House, Daresbury) went on the ‘Cathedral at Heights' tour. The afternoon event, held last month (July), involved a climb to the top of the tower and a walk around various nooks and crannies in the ancient building.

The excursion was the brainchild of Anne Cody, who works as a PA for the Director of Ordinands and Director of Ministry.

She explained: “Hannah Lloyd, who works in Social Responsibility and Parish Development for the diocese,  is getting wed in September and we wanted to do something memorable as part of her pre-wedding celebrations.

“We thought rather than just go round the pubs, we would raise our sights a little – so the ‘Cathedral at Heights’ tour seemed perfect.”

The women enjoyed afternoon tea at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Rooms in Chester following cathedral event.

Hannah is due to wed Paul Jones, a train driver, at St John the Evangelist, Sandiway, on Saturday 27 September.

Hannah said: “My hen do with work colleagues was a surprise, and a very lovely one. The view from the top of the tower was breath-taking.”
