Helen's long service honoured

This September marks Helen Thornton's 40 years of service to Foxhill Conference Centre.

Helen first began at Foxhill in 1972 and has been a trusted and cheerful member of the team ever since.  Paying tribute to Helen’s service, The Bishop of Chester, Rt Rev Peter Forster, spoke of the immense contribution that Helen has made to the Diocese with her dedication and care.  He said that Helen’s cheerfulness and her welcome had been a fundamental part of all that makes Foxhill what it is.

He then presented Helen with a beautiful glass fruit bowl which had been suitably engraved in thanks for Helen’s ministry in the Diocese.

Pictured with Bishop Peter and Helen are Ian and Sue Cameron.  Ian is still recovering from illness and is not yet back at work but it was terrific that he could join in the tributes to Helen.

Helen continues to work as hard as ever and spoke of how she hoped to continue to welcome people for a while yet.
