Forst chapel fundraiser for rescue servvice 2015

undefinedSt Stephen's church (the ‘Forest Chapel') will host this event on Sunday 7 June, starting at 3pm. The hour-long service will be dedicated to cyclists and walkers, who can sometimes find themselves in trouble in the Peak District and surrounding border areas.

The service will feature songs, prayers, poetry, hymns and readings, to celebrate the Forest Chapel’s beautiful surrounding countryside which inspires people to visit and explore the Macclesfield Forest area and beyond.

There is free parking at St Stephen’s (pictured)  – which is in the hamlet of Macclesfield Forest (off the A537 road). The chapel has disabled access. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors after the service.

Buxton Rescue is a registered charity, dependent on donations from the public. Over the last few years, mountain rescuers have recovered climbers from crags, reunited lost walkers with their companions, and ensured injured casualties have been treated and transported to hospital.

The teams also find missing children and vulnerable adults, and recue dogs, cows, sheep and other animals.
