Easter tomb scwene by parish kn itters 2015

undefinedThe Knit & Natter' group at St Cross in Knutsford kept busy during Lent again this year producing this Easter garden scene of the open tomb and the witnessing of the risen Christ.

Last year members of the group knitted a scene of the Last Supper – twelve disciples plus food and drink at a table made especially for them by the husband of one of the ladies.

The group continue to meet and have undertaken various projects including Mothers’ Union shawls, jackets for premature babies, ‘trauma teddies’, poppies to raise funds for the Royal British Legion and decorations for the community Christmas Tree Festival.

To create the Easter garden scene the women studied all four gospel accounts of the event, incorporating aspects from each. On Easter morning parishioners were invited to place flowers in the garden to symbolise the recognition of the continuing presence of our risen Lord in our lives.
