Easter garden Coppenhall 2016

RSS

undefinedEach year at Easter a special garden is created within St Michael's church, Coppenhall, Crewe, as an aid to prayer and a symbol of joy and hope. Parishioners grow plants to create a big Open Tomb scene within the church - and they renew and replace the plants right through the Easter season until Pentecost.

At the end of every Sunday Mass, the congregation gather by the Easter garden (which features statues of the risen Christ, Mary Magdalen and the angel) as it is sprinkled with holy water and incensed.

Father Charles Razzall, Rector, said: “Over the years the size and scope of our Easter garden has grown. Everyone loves it. It makes people think about the hope that Easter offers.”
