Double Licensing at High Legh

undefinedA double licensing took place recently which also saw four local churches come together in a new group. The Revd Philip Robinson was licensed as Priest-in-Charge of St John, High Legh, and St Paul, Over Tabley.

Philip is already Vicar of St Mary, Rostherne and Holy Trinity, Little Bollington.  He now brings the four churches together in a new united benefice. Also licensed to that new group ministry, as Associate Priest, is the Revd Trish Cope.

Philip and Tricia are pictured right at St John’s for the licensing service on 2 December with Archdeacon Ian Bishop and Bishop Libby Lane .The photo was taken by young parishioner Elizabeth Cox

It is fairly unusual to have a double licensing on the same evening.

Our bottom picture, taken by Archdeacon Ian, shows the Revd Philip Robinson in a rather startling Christmas shirt.

Philip said: "What better time to embark on a new venture in the life of our four churches than Advent, a season marked by journeys. With excitement and anticipation we look forward to following God's purposes for us as we travel the road together."
