Farewell to David Bell

undefinedDavid Bell, the Diocesan Adviser for Ministry among Children, is leaving his post at the end of this month. David joined the team in February 2006 following a period as a freelance writer and editor for Christian organisations specialising in children's, youth and all-age resources.

David’s also had successful periods in other posts, including a number with CPAS (the Church Pastoral Aid Society) in its Youth and Children Division.

There have been many highlights to David’s ministry in our diocese. He leaves us with the excellent Growing Children resource.  Children’s ministry leaders have benefitted from his courses, such as Skills and More and training for the Church Colleges Certificate in Children’s Ministry.

Many young people and their families have benefitted from the wonderful Big Bible Events and David has been particularly effective in supporting individual parishes as they sought to begin and develop work with children.  In recent times, he’s been working with colleagues to develop ideas for inter-generational practices which seem increasingly vital for the Church.

Jeff Turnbull, the Diocesan Director of Education, said: “David will be greatly missed  across the diocese and by people in Church House.  We wish him and his family well as he resumes his freelance work. We hope to see him regularly in our diocese.”
