Chester Cathedral Zumbathon

undefinedIn what is believed to be a world first, Chester Cathedral welcomed 500 people to a mega Zumba fitness class in the nave on the 18th November. The two hour Zumbathon, combining Latin and international dance music, raised more than 6000 for BBC Children in Need.

Those taking part received a goodie bag with a Y Bible booklet in it.

The Revd Helena Roulston, who is also a Zumba instructor, said; “The money raised will go a long way to support BBC Children in Need projects all over the country, including one very close to home - Claire House Children’s Hospice on the Wirral. We think it is the first time a Zumbathon has been held in a Cathedral.”
Canon Peter.

At the last count the total raised was at least £6203... An incredible achievement!
