Cathedral at Height 2014

undefinedA restoration company working onsite at Chester Cathedral celebrated recently (October 2013) when site manager Gary Shea was recently named as 2013 Construction Manager of the Year. Gary works for William Anelay Ltd – a firm that is working on the ‘Cathedral at Height' visitor attraction, which will open to the public during Easter 2014.

‘Cathedral at Height’ will open to the public during Easter 2014. It will allow visitors to take a guided tour of some of the cathedral’s ‘secret spaces’ and journey to the roof of the central tower to look out over the city of Chester and beyond.

Gary won his award for work on an earlier project – the restored Florence Institute building in Liverpool.

Vice Dean at Chester Cathedral, Peter Howell-Jones, said: “We were thrilled to hear about Gary’s award. We are very pleased to be working with a restoration company that is committed to excellence and are excited about what they are able to bring to the project at Chester Cathedral.

“Cathedral at Height is all set to be a high quality, innovative visitor attraction in the heart of the city – and we can’t wait to open!”
