Boris Johson Lego Chester cathedral May 2015

undefinedBoris Johnson Mayor of London, and now a Tory MP again is pictured adding a brick to the scale model of Chester Cathedral being made from Lego bricks. The cathedral's Director of Operations, Simon Warburton, is also in the photo.

People can purchase a Lego brick to be included in the model, which will be four metres long and two metres high.

Volunteer ‘bricklayers’ will work daily to build the model from the foundations up. It’s estimated that the project will take up to four years to complete.

The model – which will split in two to reveal the inside of the building – will include features unique to Chester Cathedral’s interior, such as the grand organ.

The money raised by selling Lego bricks will support the work of the Chester Cathedral Education Trust. If you’d like to get involved please email
