Bishop Keith visits Runcorn church

undefinedBishop Keith visited Holy Trinity church in Runcorn and was pleased to hear about the recently completed repairs to the tower roof made possible by a grant of 78,300 from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.

The work, which was started last October, has now been completed at the Grade 2-listed church in the Old Town which was built in 1837.

Bishop Keith celebrated holy communion on Sunday morning (7 February) at Holy Trinity, which is currently in interregnum, along with All Saints, Runcorn (where Bishop Keith also celebrated communion later that morning).

The bishop is pictured with Churchwardens Terry Clare and Margaret Evans. He also chatted to Margaret Cooke MBE, the PCC Treasurer, who has done much of the admin work relating to the repair of the tower.

The £78,300 grant originated from a scheme under the supervision of the Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
