Award for a growing brigade company Noctorum

undefinedThe Noctorum Company of the Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade in Wirral had a very successful year in 2013 and topped it off by being awarded the Sir Hamish Forbes Award by the Brigade Association. We are to receive a certificate and a potted history of Sir Hamish together with a cheque for 100, for being the company to achieved the highest increase in membership.

Sir Hamish was an accomplished soldier and former PoW who held the Military Cross. He was president of the Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade Association from 1974 to 2000.

Karen Cairns, Noctorum brigade captain, said: “This is great news for us. We will continue to work hard together for the future of our company.”

The company enjoyed a parade service on Sunday 2 February at St Andrew’s church, Noctorum. The children attended the Candlemas service and read prayers. The service was led by Reader Denis Jones.
