Art and music at Advent day Whitegate 2014

undefinedSt Mary's church in Whitegate, mid-Cheshire, will feature lots of figures made of willow, fabric and flowers on Saturday 13 December. The tableaux created by the ladies of the church flower group will include a nativity scene. It's all part of the rural church's Advent Gift Day.

St Mary’s will be open for viewing of the elaborate decorations between 10am and 4pm.  Live seasonal music will be played by parishioners, friends of the parish, and local schoolchildren.
There will also be recorded seasonal music by choirs and music groups from the local area. At 3pm a final concert consisting of many of the live performers – and including the Vicar, Canon Chris Humphries – will bring the day to a conclusion.

It’s a fundraising event. Baskets for gift aid envelopes will be placed on a table at the entrance of church and near the nativity scene.

Refreshments will be available in the Mews building next to the church throughout the day. Coffee or tea and mince pies or biscuits during the morning – and mulled wine, or mulled fruit juice and mince pies during the afternoon.
