Our Taffy resplendent in gold!

undefinedMembers of the clergy from across North West England took to the catwalk to show off the latest in 'parish fashions' at the Christian Resources Exhibition North, held in Trafford recently. Among the models was the Revd Taffy Davies (pictured), currently on secondment at Foxhill retreat centre, and formerly the Rural Dean of Macclesfield.

The modelling of clergy clothes and robes was covered by BBC regional television news, and viewers saw Taffy in gold-coloured altar vestments on the streets of Manchester, and on the exhibition centre catwalk, where he also swung a thurible (incense dispenser).

Taffy said: “By doing this I was keen to show that the C of E has a sense of humour, and it was an opportunity to show the great skills of the vestment makers. Personally, though, I was way out of my comfort zone in wearing very elaborate vestments and in parading around like a fashion model.”
