Cranmer Awards - time to enter

The diocesan heat of the Archbishop Cranmer Awards (for young people aged 11 to 18) will take place at the Church of St James, Sutton, near Macclesfield during the morning of Saturday 17 November.

The competition is organised by the Prayer Book Society and aims to encourage young people to engage with the famous book’s beautiful language and to promote the enjoyment and skill of reading aloud in church.

Pictured are contestants from last year.

There are prizes for the winners, and the two finalists will be invited to represent the diocese at the national final.

Judges of the diocesan heat this year are the Bishop of Chester, the Rt Revd Dr Peter Forster, Tim Richards of Gawsworth Hall, and languages expert Catherine Cheater.

For further details and information on how to enter this competition please phone Nigel Pearson on 01625 261502 or email thepearsons@tinyworld.co.uk
