CME - training and
development for ministry

Initial training for lay or ordained ministers is not the end - all ministers need to be developing their skills, knowledge and spiritual life. Chester Diocese provides a programme of events  open to all clergy and accredited lay ministers (Readers, Church Army Officers and Pastoral Workers)

Regular events include
Ministry Days, 24 Hours with a Theologian, one-off events and specific programmes such as the Chester Leadership Development Programme for clergy and the Funeral and Bereavement Ministry training for Readers.

A CME grant is available for clergy and accredited lay ministers to assist with the cost of training courses. Click here for details.
