Chester Leadership Development Programme is aimed to help clergy develop Christian leadership that is sustainable collaborative mission-focused rooted in Christ
Servant leaders The course looks at what might be a genuinely Christian approach to ministry and leadership, drawing from the best insights of secular thinking on leadership but staying rooted in the Christian tradition.
Led by Christ It is all too easy to preach to others and yet lose our own way. How can we develop styles of leadership which are rooted in prayer and a sustainable spirituality? In the midst of competing possibilities, how do we discern the priorities and call of the Spirit?
Working with others What are the alternatives to the "one man band" model of ministry? How can we identify and grow leaders within the parish, and work effectively in an organisation largely made up of volunteers?
To serve and reach others Leading a church can so easily become about serving an inward-focussed community - how can our leadership help the church to turn outwards, draw in others and extend the work of God's Kingdom in the world?
For the future and with a future Clergy burnout is all too real - how can we build models of healthy and sustainable ministry that allows us not just to survive but to thrive as leaders and as people?
