Recent Meeting
On Saturday 16th. June 2002 a group of the Chester Companions attended the Melanesian Mission Festival Day at Exeter.
There was a service in the Cathedral followed by a picnic lunch on the Palace Lawn; and after which we had a meeting of the Melanesian Mission.
Click Here for pictures of the Event.
Some Notes from other meeting are:
The canoe we collected money for has been purchased (Click here for a picture of a similar canoe)
We are saving money for other projects. There is a need for a Companion's House at Tabalia and the Novice's House is in urgent need of repair.
We have recently sent a shipment to the Island of various items for The Brothers, The Sisters, The Church and the Mothers union (to name just a few).
We hope to send another shipment soon. There is a need for many items, including School Books, Handbooks on Parenting and Childhood development, Copydex, crayons, etc. and Manual Sowing Machines (There is no electricity in many areas and the Country can not afford Oil for the generator supplying the Capital)
There is a hope that some of us will be able to attend the Grand Conferance in 2003, and we are planning getting the Brothers to re-visit Chester in 2004/5
There is a page for "Stop Press" announcements and requests for prayers from the Group.
This page can be accessed by Clicking Here.
When the Brothers were here they recording some songs and music. These have been made into a CD.
Most have been sold but a few copies remain.
