Good Childhood Conversations

Helsby - 11/10/2012

How can your church foster links with parents and the wider community to make childhood better?

“It takes a whole village to raise a child”

The Good Childhood Conversations, facilitated by The Children’s Society, are an easy and effective way of starting a dialogue in your community about the issues facing children and young people.

These local events encourage adults to reflect on their attitudes towards children and young people and to think about ways of making positive changes.

Children and young people are consulted about their views prior to the event- using either the well-being survey or “thinking about my life postcards.”  Findings from the consultation are then fed into the discussion so that it is relevant to the local context.

You can find out more about The Good Childhood Conversations on Thursday 11th October at 1pm to 3.30pm when 2 experienced facilitators from the Children’s Society will be presenting a taster event. This event is open to clergy, head teachers, school chaplains and youth and children’s workers and is a fantastic opportunity to hear how the Good Childhood Conversations could be relevant to you.

Where:  St Paul’s Church Hall, Vicarage Lane, Helsby, WA6 9AB.

Booking: This event is free but please reserve your place by emailing Victoria Day. (Tel: 01244 681973 ext 263).
