This day is being led by Catherine Older and Adrian Esdaile of the Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer. The programme for the day has been designed to give an introduction to contemplative prayer, some time for a prayer exercise and opportunity for feedback.
The day is open to anyone interested in contemplative prayer. There is no charge so participants are asked to bring their own lunch (refreshments will be provided).

‘What is contemplative prayer?’
- the Prayer of Silence
- the place of Contemplative Prayer in our own prayer lives
- its place in Parish prayer life
(to include discussion in pairs)
11.00am Coffee
11.15am The background to the FCP
The Contemplative Exercise: Dominical Sayings and the threefold Mind/Heart/Will pattern
12.00 Short Contemplative Exercise
12.45pm Lunch
1.30pm The Exercise experience – discussion:
questions, problems, practicalities, preparing an exercise

2.30pm Starting and leading a Prayer Group
