At Home

Children and young people tell us that family is the number one factor in developing their faith. Schools and churches can encourage families in developing faith at home.

There are lots of resources designed to help families with this. Here are some we particularly like:

Parenting for Faith Course

Based on the book Parenting Children for a Life of Faith, the Parenting for Faith course is a free video-based resource for communities. It's normally run in a church or home group, but can be used by individuals as well.

The goal of the course is to help parents discover that they are perfectly positioned to show their children the reality of a life with God and to empower them to have their own vibrant two-way relationship with him.

Kitchen Table Project

The Kitchen Table Project raises awareness of the role parents and carers play and provide the tools and support to help parents/carers succeed in inspiring faith at home.

GodVenture

GodVenture was developed to give busy parents fun, easy to do faith at home together. You pay for their resources, which are fantastic.

Parenting Courses

The National Parenting Initiative has a selection of parenting courses churches could run.

The Diocese of Chester has Parentalk resources by Care for the Family for parishes to run parenting courses should they wish.
