How to get the best from your Church Hall

A one day training event exploring how to better manage and realise the potential of church halls. The day will be led by Claire Jones, Community Development Officer, from Cheshire Community Action ( This event is organised by the Diocese of Chester (Church of England). All church denominations in the area are welcome.

The day will include
1. Introduction to Cheshire Community Action and Cheshire’s Community Buildings Network
2. Good business management – how to get the best income from your church hall (including business planning, financial management, bookings and hire costs and policies, keeping running costs down, publicity)
3. Building management – making sure you comply with all relevant legislation for community buildings (e.g. fire safety, health and safety, risk assessments, employment)
4. A tour and Q&A session by St. John’s Church Centre, Hartford
5. Fundraising for building improvements – where to look for funding and how to prepare a good quality grant application
