The Criminal Justice Group meets 4/5 times a year. Its membership includes; CSR committee members, retired probation officers, chaplains and prison volunteers.

The Group exists to:
· inform, resource and support parishes in their contact and engagement with criminal justice issues
· support the Chaplains at Styal Prison and Thorn Cross YOI and raise awareness in the diocese of their work and the needs of all in prison
· be informed about developments within, and issues concerning the criminal justice system, including non-custodial sentences, projects and the after care of prisoners and to keep these issues on the agenda of churches in the diocese.

Criminal Justice Resource Directory
This is a resource for clergy and others who are supporting people in the criminal justice system. It brings into one document contact details of useful groups and organisations in this area.

Prisoners Sunday and Prisons Week - 3rd week in
November each year
Each year we help to organise and promote a Prisons Week service with the Chaplaincy teams.

Plans for the future
We are actively supporting the work of the Chaplaincy teams and looking to support parishes who work with the families of prisoners and ex-offenders. Are you one of these parishes? Can you contact us?
